StatBroadcast to be used at all 41 bowl games in 2016-17
TEMPE, ARIZ. --
StatBroadcast’s stats system will be used at all 41 bowl games this December and January, the company announced today after reaching new agreements this week with the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, the Military Bowl presented by Northrup Grumman, the New Era Pinstripe Bowl and Florida Citrus Sports, which operates the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl and the Russell Athletic Bowl; StatBroadcast also renewed its agreements with the other 36 members of the Football Bowl Association, including the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship game in Tampa. StatBroadcast will also provide stats feeds for three other postseason events, the Texarkana Bowl, the Celebration Bowl and the Senior Bowl, which are not members of the FBA.
The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, in its sixteenth year, will be played on December 17 at Mercedes-Benz SuperDome in downtown New Orleans and will feature Southern Miss vs. Louisiana-Lafayette. The bowl has conference ties in with the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA.
The Military Bowl presented by Northrup Grumman is played at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on the campus of the United States Naval Academy and features teams from the ACC and American Conferences. The ninth edition of the game will feature Tempe vs. Wake Forest on December 27.
The New Era Pinstripe Bowl this year will face Northwestern vs. Pitt. One of only three bowls played in an outdoor venue, Yankee Stadium in the Bronx serves as host of the game, which is in its seventh year and features teams from the ACC and Big Ten.
Florida Citrus Sports operates two bowl games in downtown Orlando, Florida at Camping World Stadium, formerly known as the Florida Citrus Bowl. The 26th edition of the Russell Athletic Bowl will be played on December 28 and pit West Virginia vs. Miami (FL); the bowl features teams from the ACC and Big 12 Conferences. The Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl will be played on New Year’s Eve and will feature LSU vs. Louisville; previously known as the Tangerine Bowl and the Capital One Bowl, the Citrus Bowl is in its 69th year, making it the seventh oldest bowl game in the nation.
The Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl is in its second year and will be played on December 17 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The game features the champions of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) of the NCAA Division-I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), provided neither champion is selected for the FCS Tournament. This year will feature North Carolina Central vs. Grambling State. The bowl is owned and operated by ESPN Events.
